Ingredients
  

For sauteeing and grinding:

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 4 garlic
  • 1 inch ginger
  • few curry leaves
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 2 tsp Kashmiri red chilly powder
  • ½ cup desiccated coconut dry coconut

For curry:

  • ½ cup dry peas (soaked for 8 hours)
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • cup water
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves

For seasoning/ tadka:

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • few curry leaves

Instructions
 

For sauteeing and grinding:

  • Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan, add 4 garlic, 1-inch ginger, 1 onion chopped, few curry leaves
  • Saute for a while until the onion becomes glossy.
  • Next, add 1 tomato chopped, saute well until the tomato becomes mushy.
  • Let this mixture cool down
  • Transfer this sauteed mixture into a blender jar.
  • Add 1 tbsp of coriander powder, 2 tsp of Kashmiri red chilly powder, ¼ tsp of turmeric powder, and ½ cup of desiccated coconut
  • Blend it finely with little water and keep aside.

For making curry:

  • In a pressure cooker add in ½ cup of dry peas (soaked for 8 hours), and ground paste
  • Now add 1 tsp of salt and 1½ cup of water
  • Pressure cook for 4 whistles in medium flame
  • Open the lid after pressure released completely
  • Now add ½ tsp of garam masala and salt if required
  • Bring it to a boil for 30 seconds
  • now add in the seasoning mixture
    For seasoning/ Tadka:
    Heat 1 tbsp of oil in tadka pan, splutter ½tsp of mustard seeds, ½ tsp of cumin seeds and turn off the flame, add few curry leaves
  • Garnish with coriander leaves
