Ingredients
For cooking Dhal:

For Roasting and Grinding:

dry red chilly

To make kootu:

coconut oil

mustard seeds

tsp
urad dhal

curry leaves

tsp
asafoetida

tbsp
ginger (finely chopped)

beans chopped 1½ cup

turmeric powder
salt to taste
Instructions
For cooking Dhal:
Rinse dhal well
Add it into a pressure cooker with little ghee or oil
cover the lid, pressure cook for 3 whistles in medium flame
For roasting and Grinding:
Heat the oil in a pan, add 1 tsp coriander seeds, 2 tsp urad dhal, 1 tsp cumin, and 4 red chilis
saute it for 4 minutes
Add ¼ cup of coconut shredded
saute it for 5 minutes
turn off the flame, allow it to cool
Transfer the mixture into a blender jar, add ¼ tsp pepper blend it into a smooth paste with little water
For making kootu:
Heat 1 tbsp of coconut oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, urad dhal, and curry leaves
put chopped ginger, saute it for a while
Add chopped beans and saute
Sprinkle salt and pepper
pour 1 cup of water cover and cook it for 10 minutes for the beans to cook
open the lid add in cooked dhal and ground paste and mix well
Bring into aboil, now the beans kootu is ready
