Ingredients
  

To roast and grind:

  • ½ tbsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 cup curry leaves
  • ½ cup coconut (shredded)

To make curry:

  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp mustard
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp urad dhal
  • few curry leaves
  • 1 green chilly
  • 100 gm shallots (8-10 numbers)(finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 2 tsp Kashmiri red chili
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tomato (chopped)
  • ½ cup tamarind extract

Instructions
 

To roast and Grind:

  • Heat ½ tbsp of sesame oil, ad cumin, garlic, saute
  • Now add curry leaves, saute for 2 minutes in medium flame
  • Add the shredded coconut, saute it for 3 minutes
  • Allow the mixture to cool, blend into a fine paste with little water, and keep it aside

To make curry:

  • Heat 2 tbsp of oil, add, mustard seeds, cumin, urad dhal, curry leaves, green chilly
  • Now add shallots, saute it till it becomes translucent
  • Add the spice powders (1tbsp of coriander powder, 2 tsp of chilly powder, ½ tsp of chilly powder), saute it for 30 seconds in medium flame
  • Then add finely chopped tomato, and salt, mix well,
  • Pour ½ cup tamarind extract, cover and cook for 3 minutes
  • Now add the ground paste, mix well, add ¾ cup of water, cover and cook for 5 minutes
    Now the curry is ready
