Instructions
soaking moong dal:
take ¼ cup of moong dal in a bowl, soak it in hot water for 20 minutes
Chopping snake gourd:
scrap the outer skin as much as possible using a knife
remove and discard the seed and fibrous portion
chop the snake gourd into small pieces and keep aside
for stir fry:
Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan, splutter ½ tsp of mustard seeds, add ½ tsp of cumin seeds, 3 dry red chilly, and curry leaves
Next, add 1-onion chopped, saute till onion becomes glossy
then add chopped snake gourd, saute
now add ¼ tsp of turmeric powder and salt
pour in 1/2 cup of water
put the lid on, cook in medium flame for 15 minutes (stir at regular intervals)
open the lid, give a mix, and it is done
