Wheat appam | banana appam | banana fritters

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • ½ cup jaggery
  • 2 banana well-riped
  • 1 tbsp broken cashews
  • ¼ tsp cardamom powder
  • A pinch salt

Method
 

Melting jaggery:
  1. Take ½ cup of jaggery in a pan, add ¼ cup of water, mix well
  2. Stir until the jaggery melts
  3. then turn off the flame, keep the jaggery water aside
Mixing the fritter mixture:
  1. In a mixing bowl, take 1 cup of wheat flour
  2. Add a pinch of salt
  3. and ¼ tsp of cardamom powder
  4. 1 tbsp broken cashews, Mix well
  5. Add 2 banana (mashed), give a mix
  6. Now strain the jaggery water straight away into the mixing bowl containg wheat flour
  7. mix well, mixture should be thick paste
Deep frying:
  1. Now heat oil in a kadai once the oil is heated well, reduce the temperature to low, now put the small portion wheat-banana mixture
  2. deep fry it in low to medium heat
  3. When it turns golden brown, take off from the oil gently
