apple pickle | green apple thokku

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tbsp oil
  • ¼ tsp mustard seeds
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • 2 green apple (400 gram)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp trumeric powder
  • 2 tbsp Kashmiri Red chilly powder
  • ¼ tsp fenugreek powder
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

Method
 

  1. Heat 4 tbsp of oil in a pan, splutter ¼ tsp of mustard seeds, add a pinch of asafoetida
  2. Now add in the grated apple, and saute for few seconds
  3. And then, add ½ tsp of turmeric powder and a tsp of salt and mix well
  4. Keep the flame low, cook for about 10 minutes, Stir at regular intervals
  5. After 10 minutes, add in 1 tbsp of Kashmiri red chilly powder and ¼ tsp of fenugreek powder and again cook for about 5 minutes on low flame. (Stir at regular intervals)
  6. And then turn off the flame, finally, add 2 tbsp of lemon juice,
    let this thokku cool down.
    After it got cools down, transfer it to a clean dry glass jar.
