to grind
- Grind all the ingredients mentioned to be ground, with little water
To cook:
- Heat the oil in a pan, add spices one by one (star anise, cloves, bay leaf, cardamom, Marathi mokku), then add curry leaves
- Next, add onion and saute
- And then, add ginger-garlic paste, saute
- Now, add bottle gourd, salt and turmeric powder, Saute for a few minutes
- Add coriander powder
- Pour in 1/4 cup of water, cover and cook for 5 minutes (for the tomato to be mashed)
- Add ground paste, add about 1 cup of water to dilute, in this stage add salt if it is needed. Bring into boil
- Turn off the flame, garnish with chopped coriander leaves
