Method
For boiling dal:
- take washed toor dal in a pressure cooker, put ½ tsp of ghee, 2 cups of water
- Pressure cook it for 7 whistles
- after pressure released, open the lid, mash it with ladle, keep aside for later use.
Making methi dal:
- In a pan, heat 2 tbsp of ghee, crackle 1 tsp of mustard seeds, 1 tsp of cumin seeds.
- Put 2 green chilli (sllit), add chopped onion and garlic, saute until onion becomes translucent
- Now add fenugreek leaves, add turmeric powder, and salt. saute it for 1 minuteadd ½ cup of water, boil for 5 minutes
- Next, add cooked dal, adjust the consistency with water and add salt. and boil it for 5 minutes and then turn off the flame
