Method
Resting the sliced onions:
- Take 250-gram onion (sliced) into a mixing bowl
- Add 1/2 tsp of salt and mix well
- Leave it for 15 minutes
- After 15 minutes water oozed out from the onion slices
- Now add 1 tsp Kashmiri Red chilly powder, 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, 1/4 tsp of carom seeds (ajwain/omam), few curry leaves (chopped), 2 tbsp chopped coriander leavesMix well
- Then add in ¾ cup of gram flour/ besan flour/ kadalai maavu.
- Next, add in 2 tbsp of rice flour and mix well until it forms a thick dough
- Now add 1 tbsp of water and mix, Now the batter is ready for frying
- Drop small portions in the hot oil gently, Keep the flame medium to low
- Fry it to golden brown colored pakoda and serve with chai
