Curry leaves Kuzhambhu is a delicious curry made with curry leaves in large amounts. This curry is a good side dish for rice, idly, or dosa. When we look at the benefits of curry leaves, it will increase the Hemoglobin level, lowers cholesterol, protects the liver, and promotes weight loss.

There are so many dishes based on curry leaves like kuzhambhu, thokku, chutney, rice, curry leaves powder, etc.

Ingredients Method

Ingredients
  

To roast and grind:
  • ½ tbsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 cup curry leaves
  • ½ cup coconut (shredded)
To make curry:
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp mustard
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp urad dhal
  • few curry leaves
  • 1 green chilly
  • 100 gm shallots (8-10 numbers)(finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 2 tsp Kashmiri red chili
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tomato (chopped)
  • ½ cup tamarind extract

Method
 

To roast and Grind:
  1. Heat ½ tbsp of sesame oil, ad cumin, garlic, saute
  2. Now add curry leaves, saute for 2 minutes in medium flame
  3. Add the shredded coconut, saute it for 3 minutes
  4. Allow the mixture to cool, blend into a fine paste with little water, and keep it aside
To make curry:
  1. Heat 2 tbsp of oil, add, mustard seeds, cumin, urad dhal, curry leaves, green chilly
  2. Now add shallots, saute it till it becomes translucent
  3. Add the spice powders (1tbsp of coriander powder, 2 tsp of chilly powder, ½ tsp of chilly powder), saute it for 30 seconds in medium flame
  4. Then add finely chopped tomato, and salt, mix well,
  5. Pour ½ cup tamarind extract, cover and cook for 3 minutes
  6. Now add the ground paste, mix well, add ¾ cup of water, cover and cook for 5 minutes
    Now the curry is ready

Stepwise Picture Recipe:

Heat ½ tbsp of oil, splutter cumin, add 2 garlic cloves chopped
Add 1 cup of curry leaves
saute it for 30 seconds in medium flame
Now add ½ cup of shredded coconut
saute it for 3 minutes in low flame, then turn off the flame, let this mixture to cool

transfer to a blender jar, blend it with 1/2 cup of water

blend it into a fine paste, keep aside

Heat 2 tbsp of oil, splutter mustard seeds, cumin, add urad dhal, curry leaves, and green chilly
Add finely chopped shallots

spice powders (coriander powder, Kashmiri red chili powder, turmeric powder), saute it for 30 seconds in low flame

Add chopped tomato and mix well
pour ½ cup of tamarind extract

cover and cook for 3 minutes

Add ground paste, mix well, cover and cook for 5 minutes

pour 3/4 cup of water, cover and cook for 5 minutes

Now the curry is ready
