ginger chicken curry | ginger chicken semi gravy, It is ginger flavored curry the best accompaniment for rotis and rice. In this process, marination is required. No other spice powders needed for this curry, we are adding ginger, pepper, green chilly, and lemon

Ingredients
  

For marination:

  • 750 gram chicken
  • 1 tbsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 inch ginger chopped chopped like strips
  • ½ tsp salt

For making ginger chicken curry:

  • ¼ cup oil
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 star anise
  • 2 green chilly
  • 4 garlic cloves finely chopped
  • 1 onion thinly chopped
  • 1 tomato ginely chopped
  • 1 tbsp curd | yoghurt

Instructions
 

For marination:

  • Take the washed chicken in a bowl, put, salt, pepper, ginger chopped, lemon juice, and turmeric powder
  • give a nice mix
  • Put the lid on, keep refrigerated for a minimum 1 hour or overnight

For making ginger chicken curry:

  • Heat ¼ cup of oil in a pan, put the onion, green chilly, garlic cloves. Saute well
  • Next, add marinated chicken, keep stirring for 10 minutes,
  • and then add 1 tomato chopped and 1 tbsp of curd, stir
  • Put the lid on, cook it in low flame for 20 minutes
  • After 20 minutes, open the lid, do a quick stir, turn off the flame, garnish with ginger julienne.

Stepwise Picture Recipe for ginger chicken:
For marinating the chicken:
Take the washed chicken in a bowl,
put chopped ginger
1 tbsp crushed pepper
1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
1 tbsp of lemon juice
and 1/2 tsp of salt
Mix well, cover and rest it for 1 hour
For making curry:

Firstly, heat 1/4 cup of oil

Secondly, Put 1 star anise and 1 bay leaf, 2-green chilly chopped, 4-garlic cloves chopped

1-onion thinly sliced and 1/2 tsp of salt

saute well until onion becomes slightly brown
Now add in marinated chicken
stir well for 10 minutes in the oil
And then, add in 1-tomato chopped
2-tbsp of curd
1/4 cup of water, mix well

put the lid on, cook it medium flame for 20 minutes

and then turn off the flame, garnish with chopped ginger and green chilly

Note:

It is a semi gravy type curry, It is better combination for rice, chapatis and other rotis in dinner.
