aval puttu | sweet poha is prasadham/ neivedhyam food and also easy to make sweet recipe in 15 minutes. Usually, people would make this sweet on Janmashtami/ Gokulashtami as lord Krishna likes aval/ poha. In case of the time, we are craving sweets, just making this sweet because it takes only less time.

Ingredients Method

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup aval/ poha white/ red
  • ¾ cup jaggery powdered
  • ¼ cup shredded coconut
  • ¼ tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tbsp cashews

Method
 

  1. Firstly, take 1 cup of aval / poha in a blender jar, blend it into a coarse powder
  2. Transfer this coarse powdered aval/ poha into a mixing bowl
  3. Sprinkle little water twice and mix well using hands
  4. Let it sit for 5 minutes, and again sprinkle some water, mix it, cover it and keep aside for later use
  5. Heat ghee in a pan, fry the cashews to golden brown color, keep aside
Making Jaggery syrup:
  1. Take ¾ cup of jaggery into a pan, pour ½ cup of water, turn on the heat, dissolve it well by stirring
  2. Once it is dissolved well, strain the jaggery and pour into another pan
  3. Now heat it well till it reaches softball consistency, as shown in the picture. turn off the flame
  4. Then add shredded coconut and cardamom powder, mix well
  5. Now add the poha and mix well
  6. Add fried cashew with the ghee in the pan, mix well, cover it let it sit for 10 minutes,
    it is done

Ingredients
First of all, Take the aval/ poha in a blender jar
(most importantly )blend it coarsely
transfer the ground poha/ aval into a mixing bowl, sprinkle some water, mix well
cover it with lid, let it sit for 5 minutes
After 5 minutes, again sprinkle some water mix well
fry the cashews in 1 tbsp of ghee and keep aside

add 3/4 cup of jaggery and 1/2 cup of water, mix well

when the jaggery dissolves

strain it and pour into another pan

heat it, keep stirring, it will 1 string consistency, and it will reach softball consistency
aval puttu | sweet poha
when dropping some syrup into the water, it will remain without disappearing, and also you can make it into a softball
Turn off the flame
aval puttu | sweet poha
add 1/4 cup of coconut, mix well (flame: off)
Now add 1/4 tsp of cardamom powder and mix well (flame: off)

Now add the poha, mix well (flame: off)
aval puttu | sweet poha
add cashews with ghee, mix well (flame: off)
aval puttu | sweet poha
finally, cover it let it sit for 10 minutes (flame: off)
And therefore final product will reach puttu consistency (soft as well as nonsticky)

Note:

Furthermore, you can either use red aval/ poha or white one.

And also, If you are going to use thick poha/ aval, you can add 1 cup of jaggery
