Usually, people would make this sweet on Janmashtami/ Gokulashtami as lord Krishna likes aval/ poha. In case of the time, we are craving sweets, just making this sweet because it takes only less time.
Let us see how to make aval puttu | sweet poha

aval puttu | sweet poha
Ingredients
- 1 cup aval/ poha white/ red
- ¾ cup jaggery powdered
- ¼ cup shredded coconut
- ¼ tsp cardamom powder
- 1 tbsp ghee
- 1 tbsp cashews
Instructions
- Firstly, take 1 cup of aval / poha in a blender jar, blend it into a coarse powder
- Transfer this coarse powdered aval/ poha into a mixing bowl
- Sprinkle little water twice and mix well using hands
- Let it sit for 5 minutes, and again sprinkle some water, mix it, cover it and keep aside for later use
- Heat ghee in a pan, fry the cashews to golden brown color, keep aside
Making Jaggery syrup:
- Take ¾ cup of jaggery into a pan, pour ½ cup of water, turn on the heat, dissolve it well by stirring
- Once it is dissolved well, strain the jaggery and pour into another pan
- Now heat it well till it reaches softball consistency, as shown in the picture. turn off the flame
- Then add shredded coconut and cardamom powder, mix well
- Now add the poha and mix well
- Add fried cashew with the ghee in the pan, mix well, cover it let it sit for 10 minutes, it is done

Note:
Furthermore, you can either use red aval/ poha or white one.
And also, If you are going to use thick poha/ aval, you can add 1 cup of jaggery
