mor kuzhambu recipe | fenugreek leaves mor kulambu | வெந்தயகீரை மோர் குழம்பு (recipe) is a side dish for rice, it is a good option for lunch. We can Mor kulambu with ash gourd, lady’s finger, and fenugreek leaves too. Whenever we have plenty of curd at home, the only way to use up is to make curry with the curd. Due to the bitterness of the fenugreek leaves most of us don’t prefer to eat dishes with fenugreek leaves. But in this recipe, the addition of buttermilk completely hide the bitterness of the spinach. This spinach has many health benefits including clearing intestinal worms etc. It is good to add this spinach once in a while.

Ingredients
Ingredients for grinding:
- 1 tbsp Rice
- 1 tbsp Chana dal
- 2 Dry Red chilly
- 2 tbsp Shredded coconut
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 1 inch ginger
- few curry leaves
Ingredients for making kulambu:
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- ½ tsp cumin
- 2 green chilly
- few curry leaves
- a pinch Asafoetida
- 1 cup fenugreek leaves (chopped) small bunch/ 50 gram
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- 3 cups butter milk
- 1 cup water
- salt to taste
Instructions
Ingredients for grinding:
- Firstly, take tbsp of rice and chana dal in a bowl, soak it for 30 minutes
- After 30 minutes, drain off the water, transfer it to blender jar
- Then add in 1-inch ginger, 1 tsp of cumin, 2 dry red chilly, few curry leaves, 2 tbsp of grated coconut. Blend finely with enough water, and keep aside
Ingredients for making kulambu:
- Heat 1 tbsp of coconut oil, splutter 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds, 1/2 tsp of cumin, then add few curry leaves and a pinch of asafoetida
- Next, add 1 cup of chopped fenugreek leaves, saute it in low flame for 1 minute
- add in 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, and salt
- Now pour in 1 cup of water
- then add, ground paste mix well, keep the flame low for few minutes until it gets thickened
- Now pour in 3 cups of buttermilk, mix well, turn off the flame
- now the mor kulambu is ready, transfer it to a serving container.

Note:
🌷For mor (more) kulambu, after adding the buttermilk, it need not to be boiled. Once you add in the buttermilk, you turn off the flame
