ellu chutney | sesame seeds chutney
serve with hot idli or dosa
Note:
  • Instead of making thick, make thin chutney by adding enough water. because thin chutney texture would taste good, and also thin ellu chutney nicely goes with dosa varieties.
  • Unlike other coconut chutney, the leftover chutney can be stored in the refrigerator, because it won’t get spoiled easily like other chutney
  • don’t get curious about the amount of chilly I used for this chutney if you are a mild spice eater, it does need 2 big red chillies. the spiciness of red chillies balanced by sesame seeds and tamarind well
  • while roasting urad dhal make sure the dhal roasted till it becomes golden brown, similarly the sesame seeds should splutter and get slightly fluffy as well that means it is roasted well
