radish chutney Radish contains Vitamin A, C, E and minerals; it promotes immunity also helps in detoxification well. For preparing this chutney, I have taken half of the big radish weighs almost 150 gm, so making chutney is an easy way to add the nutritious veggie in the diet.

Ingredients:
Oil – 2 tbsp
Cumin – 1 tsp
Urad dhal- 2 tbsp
Kashmiri Red chili- 3
Garlic pods- 4
Onion – 1 (finely chopped)
Radish – 1/2 of big radish / 1 cup (shredded)/ 150 gm
Tomato – 1 (finely chopped)
tamarind extract – 2tbsp
salt to taste
For seasoning:
Mustard – 1/2 tsp
cumin- 1/2 tsp
asafoetida a pinch
curry leaves few
Preparation method:
- Heat the oil in a pan, splutter cumin, add urad dhal, red chilies
- Add chopped garlic, saute for a minute
- add the onion, saute till it becomes translucent
- Then add shredded radish, saute well
- add turmeric powder
- saute till the radish gets soft texture which is being cooked (so that the raw smell goes off )
- add chopped tomato, saute till it gets mushy
- let the mixture cools down after turn off the flame
- transfer into a blender jar, add tamarind extract, salt and water, blend into a smooth paste
- season it with mustard, cumin, asafoetida, curry leaves

Note:
After adding shredded radish, saute well, make sure it gets cook well so that you won’t find any radish smell in chutney
