easy motichoor laddu recipe | laddu recipe is an easy version of making laddu. In this recipe, we need not make boondi to make laddu. This sweet recipe is one of the most favorite sweet recipes of many of us and traditional dessert too. During the festive season, we usually look for easy and quick sweet recipes to make at home. This recipe follows the same ingredients that we use it for making boondi laddu, the only difference is avoiding making boondi. But the final product is as same as the traditional one.

Ingredients Method

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup split bengal gram (kadalai paruppu)
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tbsp cashew
  • 1 tbsp raisin
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder
  • a pinch saffron strands

Method
 

soaking and grinding the bengal gram:
  1. Take 1 cup of bengal gram in a bowl, soak it for 2 hours
  2. After 2 hours, drain the water completely.
  3. Transfer it to a blender jar and blend it coarsely without adding any water and keep aside
frying and grinding:
  1. Heat the oil in a pan for deep frying
  2. just drop the ground bengal gram as vadas
  3. just fry it for 2 minutes (no need to be golden brown)
  4. After frying all the vadas, just put in the blender to blend it coarsely
Making suagr syrup:
  1. In a pan, heat 1 tbsp of ghee, first add 1 tbsp of cashews fry it when it was half done, now add-in raisins, fry it to become fluffy, and then take off
  2. In the same pan, pour in 1 cup of water, add 1 cup of sugar
  3. add saffron strands, keep stirring
  4. Heat it in medium flame till it reaches to 1/2 string consistency
  5. Now add the ground fried bengal gram, 1/2 tsp cardamom powder, fried cashews, and raisins
  6. Mix well, when it becomes medium hot, you can start make the laddu

Take 1 cup of bengal gram in a bowl,

After 2 hours, drain the water completely. Transfer it to a blender jar

and blend it coarsely without adding any water and keep aside

frying and grinding:

Heat the oil in a pan for deep frying, make vada out of ground bengal gram
gently drop inside the oil, fry it soft in medium flame

take off
put the vadas in a blender jar by breaking each vada into half,
blend it coarsely

making sugar syrup:

heat 1 tbsp of ghee in a pan, fry cashews and raisins (firstly put the cashews, once it it half done and then put raisins)
In the same pan with ghee, pour in 1/2 cup of water, and 1 cup of sugar, stir
next add a pinch of saffron
heat it till it reaches to 1/2 string consistency
once it reaches 1/2 string consistency, add ground fried vadas.
next add 1/2 tsp of cardamom powder, Mix well

then add fried cashews and raisins, mix

keep stirring in low flame, until the mixture gets thick

wait until this mixture comes to moderate temperature to touch

Note:

  • While making vadas, don’t fry it crisp and golden brown, just fry it soft.
  • sugar syrup – 1/2 string consistency, which means while you testing the syrup it must break in the half-way when you stretch
  • laddu must be made, when the mixture is in medium hot condition if you let it cool, you cant make the balls (laddus)
  • This motichoor laddu recipe is anyone can make, without any error
