Rose Phirni is north Indian dessert, traditionally served in earthenware, you can serve either hot or cold, Instead of adding artificial colors, I have used beetroot slices. this dessert is a yummy, delicious dessert, we can make it on any special occasions

Alternatives:

You can add nuts of your choice

I have used brown raw sugar here, you can use white sugar too with the same quantity

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 15 minutes

Serves: 3

Ingredients:

Milk – 500 ml

Basmati rice – 1/4 cup

sugar – 1/2 cup

beetroot – 3 pieces

Cashew nuts – 8

Almonds – 8

rose water – 1 tbsp (or rose essence – 2 drops)

Cook with care

Preparation Method:

  1. First of all, wash the rice and blend into a coarse powder (no soaking needed)

2. Heat the milk in a pan, bring into boil

3. once the milk boils, add the blended rice into it, keep stirring

within 10-15 minutes, rice cooked well

4. now add the sugar and mix well

5. then add the beetroot pieces

let it there for 1 minute, keep stirring

6. take the beetroot pieces, add the nuts.

7. turn off the flame, now add the rose syrup and mix

STEPWISE PICTURES:

Take the basmati rice, rinse 2,3 times in water to get rid of the specks of dirt (no soaking needed)

Grind it coarsely
Heat the milk in a pan, bring into boil
Add the basmati rice grinded
Keep stirring till the rice to be cooked
Add sugar and mix

Put the beetroot pieces
Take off the pieces after 1 minute

Add rose water 1 tbsp

Add chopped Nuts

now the rose phirni is ready, you can serve it hot and cold as well
