coconut burfi | nariyal burfi | thengai burfi recipe with step pictures, printable written recipe, and also video recipe. This recipe is without milk or condensed milk recipe. Also, No need for making sugar syrup. It is just by mixing up the coconut shred and sugar on medium flame until the moisture evaporates, then pouring and spreading the mixture over the tray and finally slicing it to pieces. Making coconut burfi is very easy with minimal ingredients.

Let’s get into the recipe of this burfi:

Ingredients
- 1 tbsp ghee
- 1 tbsp broken cashew pieces
- 3 cup shredded coconut
- 1½ cup sugar
- ¼ tsp cardamom powder
Instructions
Blend:
- Firstly, take the 3 cups of shredded coconut in a blender
- Blend it to get a small shred of coconut and keep aside
To make burfi:
- Heat 1 tbsp 0of ghee in a pan
- Add in cashew pieces, roast it till it becomes slightly brown, and then take off
- In the pan with the same ghee, add in blended coconut shred, fry it in medium flame for 2 minutes
- Now add 1½ cup of sugar and mix
- Sugar melts and oozes out moisture, keep stirring at medium flame
- At one stage all the moisture has gone, the mixture gathers as a mass
- In that stage, add 1/4 tsp of cardamom powder, and fried cashews and mix well
- Immediately transfer the mixture into parchment sheet overlaid tray
- spread and level it up
- Leave it for 10 minutes
- then cut into pieces, and serve

Note:
Using a non-stick pan for this recipe makes the job easier. And also, we can use other stainless steel pans too for making coconut burfi. But we need to be a little cautious while stirring to not get scorching.

As I have added raw sugar, the burfi looks browny white. If we use white sugar burfi will be in white color
